(ASCAP IPI#1285792308) has been active in electronic music since 2001, starting as DJ Monakai before transitioning to production in 2008. With a background in film music and audio engineering, guitar (since age 12), and drums, Monakai brings a unique compositional approach to drum and bass production.
Founder of MNKY Productions and participant in SF Music Week, Monakai has performed at diverse venues including warehouse parties, raves, car shows, renegades, art galleries, clubs, full moon beach parties, nightclubs, and private events as well as held consecutive weekly residencies from Concord, to SF. from Reno, NV to Malibu, CA. Notable appearances include SFLoveFest and LovEvolution SF.
Style influences: Hard and Heavy Neurofunk, TechStep, Jungle, Bass House, Electro, Dubstep, nearly all music with a focus on Sub Frequency Bass.
